Philips Zoom! WhiteSpeed

Light-activated whitening

Philips Zoom WhiteSpeed uses a proprietary LED light to accelerate the whitening gel chemical reaction. It is a fast and safe procedure powered by innovative technology. After an initial oral exam, the complete treatment takes one office visit.

The procedure begins with a short preparation period followed by three 15-minute bleaching sessions. Your results will depend on your natural tooth color, the level of staining and which Philips Zoom treatment your dental professional recommends.

Dental professionals measure the change in your teeth color in "shades." For most people, even a change of two or three shades will make a noticeable difference. What's your starting shade? Using the shade bar below, click the color that most closely matches your current tooth color to see which whitening options are recommended for you.

Is teeth whitening safe for my teeth?

As you would with any product you use on your body, be sure to follow the teeth whitening directions carefully. Some whitening products can irritate your gums or cause undue sensitivity if used improperly or too often.

The safest way to whiten your teeth is under the supervision of your dental professional who will assess your overall oral health, the health of your teeth and know the history of your teeth.

Dr. Rezvani is certified by Philips Zoom. She checks every patient maybe prone to sensitivity, and she may recommend a gentle formulation to ensure you get the results you are looking for with a treatment that you will enjoy.

What to expect

Consultation:

  • We will perform an examination to verify you're an ideal candidate for whitening.
  • After a shade assessment, available whitening options will be discussed.
  • Temporary tooth sensitivity, especially to cold, may occur during or after the whitening procedure. We recommend using Philips Sonicare Fluoridex toothpaste for two weeks before the procedure.
  • Impressions will be taken for your custom fabricated trays.

Day of treatment:

  • Dr. Rezvani will instruct you to take one ibuprofen an hour before procedure.
  • Your procedure starts with an application of vitamin E to your lips. Your gums are covered with a protective barrier and your teeth are coated with Philips Zoom WhiteSpeed in-office whitening gel.
  • The WhiteSpeed lamp will then be positioned near your teeth to accelerate the whitening process.
  • The procedure consists of up to four sessions each lasting 15 minutes. For each session, the whitening gel will be replaced by a new coating.
  • Dr. Rezvani may adjust the lamp should you experience any sensitivity.

Post-treatment:

  • After the last session you will receive your custom fabricated trays, one DayWhite or NiteWhite take-home whitening gel syringe containing three whitening applications, plus a Relief ACP Oral Care gel syringe to relieve any potential tooth sensitivity.
  • If you consume beverages that stain teeth, such as coffee, tea or wine, or if you are a smoker, brushing with a Philips Sonicare DiamondClean power toothbrush will help reduce surface stains.
